TOP100 GRADUATE EMPLOYERS METHODOLOGY

HOW DO WE DETERMINE RANKINGS

THE FACT
  • 71% of students who are successful in obtaining a graduate position in a large graduate program use GradConnection when looking for their first graduate job (according to the AAGE candidate Survey)
  • GradConnection works with over 300 graduate and internship programs in Australia
  • During our peak months we get over 180,000 Australian unique visitors come to our site to look for jobs.
  • We count the applications of unique student who is logged in on GradConnection.com.au

WHAT DO WE MEASURE

We measure how popular an employer was in any given calendar year. For all the advertising of their programs and employer branding to Australian final year students, what employers attracted the most applications, and was therefore the most popular for a particular annual co-hort.

We do not measure how well and employers program is run or what the most aspirational employer is.

LIMITATIONS & BIASES

  • To be considered, employers have to have advertised on the GradConnection.com.au site at some point during the calendar year.
  • Employers with positions in multiple locations and/or have positions relevant to multiple disciplines of students will be more relevant to a larger set of graduates and so will have a higher chance of getting to the top of the list
  • With 40% of students in Australia finishing mid year, those employers that have multiple intakes during the year or are those that do rolling recruitment will naturally have a higher number of applications in a calendar year.
  • In general, if an employer interacts with a broader set of students on GradConnection (which generally aligns to a company's overall recruitment strategy outside of our website), you’re going to generate more interest and positive interactions from a larger amount of students no matter what ranking or methodology you are looking at.
